Mia Perry (nee Miriam Allen) spent 8 years working at one of the most well respected talent agencies in the country. It was under the guidance of industry mogul Aran Michael that Mia ran the highly successful talent agency Barry Michael Artists and then won the role of the head of the film and television department working as a senior talent manager for Aran Michael Management.
Here Mia provided talent for hundreds of film and television projects; Offspring, Winners and Losers, Neighbours, City Homicide, Underbelly, Kath and Kim, Thank God You’re Here, Rush, Wilfred, Prank Patrol, Blue Heelers, Stingers, The Secret Life Of Us, Today Tonight, Charlotte’s Web, Ghostrider, The Killer Elite, The Cup….the list is endless.
She’s worked with all the major casting consultants in Australia and also provided talent for a myriad of TV commercials and corporate videos as well as having experience with musical theatre and theatre.
Having been a professional dancer prior to her time as an agent, Mia understands the complexities of the entertainment industry from every angle. She graduated on scholarship from Dance World with a Diploma in Dance majoring in Performing Arts, appearing in film clips, TV commercials, dancing on the Aria Awards, Live & Kicking, The Footy Show and the Micallef Program. She was a dancer for the NBL Melbourne Tigers, performed corporate and commercial work locally and interstate and was a back-up dancer for artists such as Tina Cousins, Rhonda Burchmore, Ilanda, Joanne BZ, Vika & Linda Bull and Tony Lee Scott. Branching into teaching dance and choreography over the next ten years, Mia choreographed for the National Basketball League, Robbie Williams The Cover band and Proline Promotions, also producing a variety of different floor shows, functions and choreography for dance schools; as well as being hired regularly to adjudicate at dance festivals throughout the state.
Mia’s decision to launch MP Talent and in turn to begin representing children in the entertainment industry was born from witnessing so much incredible talent in regional Victoria and the outer suburbs of Melbourne and realizing the abundance of untapped talent meant there weren’t many resources available to kids outside of the city who aspired to have careers in ‘the biz’. Who better to be at the helm of this exciting business venture, than someone who is ridiculously passionate about talented kids, who has plenty of knowledge and tons of experience in the industry, someone who has been on ‘both sides’ of the camera and is motivated and inspired by life. Mia Perry…that’s who!
